Seshr Launches New Charity Partnership to Boost Community Wellbeing in London

LONDON, UK – June 25, 2025 – Seshr, the real-time social app that helps people connect through spontaneous meetups and shared interests, has announced a new partnership with two leading London-based charities: South East London Mind, which supports mental health, and We Are Here, a good-tech organisation tackling homelessness.

The partnership kicks off with the launch of a new community initiative, Up to Something Good, a series of casual social events designed to get Londoners active, connected, and making a difference.

From fun runs and board game nights to pub quizzes and gallery visits, the initiative combines social connection with social impact, aiming to improve mental wellbeing and reduce loneliness in the city.

Supporting Mental Health Through Movement

There’s a growing body of research showing that physical activity has a direct impact on mental health. Exercise releases endorphins, your brain’s natural “feel-good” chemicals, which help reduce stress, anxiety, and symptoms of depression.

“We’re creating low-pressure, accessible events that help people feel better, physically and mentally.” says John Jansen, CEO and co-founder of Seshr.

That’s why Seshr, Mind and We Are Here, they’re kicking off their partnership with a fun run as part of their ‘Up to Something Good’, to raise awareness, funds and also build a community.

Building Real Friendships, Offline

In a time when loneliness and digital fatigue are on the rise, offline friendships matter more than ever. Social isolation, especially in big cities like London, is linked to poor mental health outcomes.

‘Up to Something Good’ events are designed to make it easier for people to meet face-to-face in relaxed settings. Whether you're new to the city or just looking to expand your social circle, events like pub quizzes or gallery evenings offer a chance to connect with like-minded people.

Giving Back to the Community

In addition to promoting mental wellness, the ‘Up to Something Good’ event series creates opportunities for attendees to support vulnerable communities through volunteering and charitable giving.

Studies show that helping others can boost happiness, reduce stress, and even improve self-esteem. This phenomenon, known as the “helper’s high”, is one of the key pillars behind Seshr’s mission.

“Our work with We Are Here gives people simple ways to get involved in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness,” says the team. “You can have fun, meet new people, and create real impact, all at the same time.”

Get Involved

The first event in the Up to Something Good series will be a fun run in London, open to all fitness levels. Participants can walk, jog, or run at their own pace, with every step helping raise awareness and support for mental health and homelessness.
